A DIMSCALE esteve ontem no Porto para mais um Open Working Day do projeto Arrebita!Porto. Estes são eventos abertos ao público que têm como objetivo divulgar todo o trabalho feito no âmbito do projeto e potenciar a discussão acerca do mesmo. Neste segundo dia do evento (o primeiro aconteceu a 18 de Abril), além da equipa de trabalho, intervieram os parceiros NCREP e Magnetic Fields, respetivamente acerca das questões ligadas à estrutura e à eficiência energética do edifício. A DIMSCALE interveio em último lugar, para dar conta das implicações de custo de todo o trabalho apresentado quer pela equipa, quer pelos restantes parceiros.
DIMSCALE was yesterday in Porto for another Open Working Day at project Arrebita!Porto. These are events open to the public that are intended to disclose all the work done in the project and enhance the discussion about it. On this second day of the event (the first happened on April 18th), besides the work team, there were interventions of the partners NCREP and Magnetic Fields, respectively on the issues related to the structure and energetic efficiency of the building. Foram abordados, na intervenção da DIMSCALE, quais as implicações de custo relacionadas com as escolhas de material e configurações das unidades modulares a instalar nos diferentes pisos, tendo sido inclusivamente proposta uma nova organização dos espaços dentro da "Living Box". Esta proposta prevê uma organização "por fatias" das diferentes secções (cozinha/copa, instalações sanitárias, arrumos e lavandaria), de modo a diminuir os custos de produção e a otimizar as aplicações de materiais.
Were addressed, on DIMSCALE intervention, what were the cost implications related to the material choices and configurations of modular units to be installed on different floors, and was even proposed a new organization of space within the "Living Box". This proposal provides for an organization "by slices" of different sections (kitchen/eating area, toilets, storage and laundry), in order to reduce production costs and optimize applications of materials.

Foram também discutidas mais algumas soluções a nível de materialidade para estas unidades, nomeadamente ao nível dos acabamentos, estrutura e pavimentos. Quanto ao edifício em si, foi mais uma vez discutida a possibilidade da utilização de pavimentos e paredes em vidro, de modo a facilitar a circulação de luz natural. Esta é uma boa solução, já que, apesar de ser relativamente cara, acaba por ser rentável por ser aplicada em pequenas superfícies e pelo valor que traz ao programa ao nível funcional e conceptual.
Quanto às janelas, a DIMSCALE alertou novamente a equipa para os custos inerentes à preservação das janelas originais. Esta decisão implicará, além da reparação das janelas, a instalação de segundas janelas interiores, para que possam ser cumpridos os regulamentos térmicos. Estas instalações poderão requisitar o reforço da parede, já que esta apresenta uma espessura de apenas 10 cm, que impossibilita a instalação de segundas janelas. Foram também discutidas questões relacionadas com os isolamentos térmicos e acústicos entre pisos e com a substituição de algumas telhas na cobertura. Quanto à intervenção do NCREP, a DIMSCALE irá aguardar envio da respetiva proposta para reforço das estruturas, para que possa ser estudada na perspetiva do controlo de custos. Também ficou acordado proceder desta forma em relação à proposta de eficiência energética do parceiro Magnetic Fields.
Durante a tarde, a DIMSCALE deu um Workshop acerca de Quantity Surveying e Controlo de Custos à equipa Arrebita, na Escola das Virtudes. O Workshop está disponível para download aqui. Antes do Workshop aproveitou-se a reunião com a equipa para novamente discutir a melhor configuração para a "Living Box". Após as ideias discutidas, a equipa irá agora apresentar proposta para o desenho da unidade.
We also discussed some more solutions at the level of materiality for these units, particularly in terms of finishes, and floor structure. Concerning of the building itself, was again discussed the possibility of using glass walls and floors in order to facilitate the movement of natural light. This is a good solution, since, despite being relatively expensive, turns out to be profitable because it is applied to small areas and for the value it brings to the program at the functional and conceptual levels.
As for windows, DIMSCALE warned again the team to the costs of preserving the original windows. This decision will involve, besides repairing windows, installing interior windows, to be able to fulfill the thermal regulations. These facilities can request the wall reinforcement, since this has a thickness of only 10 cm, which precludes the installation of second windows. We also discussed issues related to thermal and acoustic insulation between floors and the replacement of some tiles on the roof. Concerning NCREP intervention, DIMSCALE will wait for its technical proposal for strengthening the structures, so it can be studied in the cost control perspective. It was also agreed to proceed this way in relation to the energy efficiency proposal by partner Magnetic Fields.

Ao final da tarde, aproveitou-se o bom tempo para merecidos momentos de descontração e conversa. Foi um dia muito produtivo, sempre com boa disposição e vontade de fazer deste um projeto exemplar. "Porque isto não é trabalho, isto é Arrebita!". Vemo-nos no dia 30!
