Quinto Open Working Day amanhã

Amanhã, dia 8 de Agosto, acontecerá o quinto evento Open Working Day do Arrebita, como costume na Casa do Infante (Porto), pelas 9h30.

O parceiro IQ Energy fará uma intervenção acerca dos resultados obtidos nos testes energéticos e térmicos. De seguida, a DIMSCALE terá também uma intervenção, onde irá falar acerca do Mapa de Especificações e respetivos custos. Antes destas intervenções, a equipa de arquitetos internacionais iniciará as intervenções com o relato do trabalho desenvolvido.

Tomorrow, August 8th, will take place another Open Working Day event of Arrebita, as usual at Casa do Infante (Porto), by 9:30.

IQ Energy partner will speak about the results obtained in testing and thermal energy. Next, DIMSCALE will also have an intervention, which will talk about the Specifications Map and respective costs. Before these interventions, the team of international architects will begin the interventions with the report of the work done so far.

Novas alterações ao projeto Reboleira 42-46

A equipa de arquitetos internacionais tem vindo a trabalhar no projeto, tendo apresentado novas alterações ao projeto de Arquitetura do edifício-piloto do Arrebita. O projeto está disponível para consulta no último post do blogue da equipa, que poderá consultar aqui.

Entretanto, durante esta última semana, a equipa ficou a conhecer o conceito de hortas hidropónicas, um sistema que permite a instalação de pequenas hortas interiores que não têm necessidade de terra ou de luz natural. Os vegetais/legumes crescem apenas com água e luz artificial, sendo uma boa solução para pequenas hortas domésticas em locais com pouca exposição solar. Está a ser estudada pela equipa a hipótese de integrar o conceito no projeto.

Para o próximo dia 8 de Agosto está marcado o quinto Open Working Day.

The team of international architects have been working on the project and submitted new changes to the architecture of the building pilot project of Arrebita. The design is available for consultation in the last post of the blog team, that can be seen here.

Meanwhile, during this last week, the team learned about the concept of hydroponic gardens, a system that allows the installation of small interior gardens that have no need for soil or natural light. The plants/vegetables grow with only water and artificial light, being a good solution for small home gardens in areas with little sun exposure. Is being studied by the team the chance to integrate the concept in the project.

On the next August 8th it will take place the fift Open Working Day.

DIMSCALE inicia trabalhos de medição

Após a entrega dos primeiros desenhos do projeto, a DIMSCALE dá inicio às medições do mesmo (Quantity Surveying). Este é um trabalho que tem como objetivo assegurar as quantidades corretas à execução da obra. Este trabalho está a ser feito segundo as normas internacionais SMM (Standard Method of Measurement).

Está a ser também redigida uma lista de potenciais parceiros na área dos fornecedores de materiais, através de contactos com várias empresas e envio da Apresentação Oficial Arrebita!Porto. Este estudo de mercado tem como objetivo salvaguardar a imagem final do projeto no que respeita ao seu conceito e qualidade, ao mesmo tempo que se conciliam fatores de controlo de custos. Por outro lado, está a ser dada prioridade a empresas de origem portuguesa.

After the delivery of the first drawings of the project, DIMSCALE initiates its measurements (Quantity Surveying). This is a work that aims to ensure the correct amount for the works on site. This work is being done following the international norms SMM (Standard Method of Measurement).

Is also being drawn up a list of potential partners in the area of ​​materials suppliers, through contacts with various companies and by sending the Official Arrebita! Porto Presentation. This market research aims to protect the final image of the design concerning its concept and quality, at the same time that reconciles factors of cost control. On the other hand, priority is being given to companies of Portuguese origin.

Visita à fábrica de cerâmicas Cobert

Na passada sexta-feira dia 13 de Julho, visitámos a fábrica da Cobert, juntamente com a equipa Arrebita. A Cobert é uma empresa especializada na produção de telhas cerâmicas, estando localizada no concelho de Torres Vedras. A Cobert manifestou interesse em poder participar no projeto como parceiro, e desde logo convidou o Arrebita!Porto a visitar a sua fábrica e poder conhecer o processo de fabrico dos seus produtos.

Esta foi uma visita extremamente interessante, que permitiu ficar a conhecer melhor este tipo de produto e a compreender as suas propriedades e especificidades técnicas. A DIMSCALE acompanhou a equipa nesta visita visto ser o parceiro encarregue da consultoria em soluções construtivas, para além do trabalho de controlo de custos e Quantity Surveying.

This past Friday July 13th, we visited the factory Cobert, along with the team Arrebita. Cobert is a company specialized in the production of ceramic tiles and is located in the municipality of Torres Vedras. Cobert expressed interest in being able to participate in the project as a partner and immediately invited Arrebita! Porto to visit his factory and get to know the process of its products manufacturing.

This was an extremely interesting visit, allowing to learn about this type of product and understand their properties and technical characteristics. DIMSCALE accompanied the team on this visit as it is the partner in charge of consulting for constructive solutions, in addition to Cost Control and Quantity Surveying.

 

Quarto Open Working Day

No passado dia 11 de Julho aconteceu mais um Open Working Day, como costume na Casa do Infante, cidade do Porto. Foi a primeira apresentação pública da segunda equipa de arquitetos internacionais (Marta, Pedro, Ilaria, Ana e Lili), que teve assim oportunidade de mostrar o trabalho desenvolvido desde o primeiro contacto com o projeto.

A equipa mostrou-se já muito à vontade com o projeto e fez uma apresentação que procurou fazer um levantamento do ponto de situação do projeto. A apresentação incidiu sobre boa parte das vertentes do projeto - cave, piso térreo, primeiro e segundo andares, mezaninne, escadas, portas e janelas e CABA (unidade modular). Acerca destes aspetos a equipa apresentou, além do ponto de situação, algumas dúvidas em relação à materialidade a adotar.

Em termos técnicos, a equipa assinalou que pontos estavam já resolvidos e quais necessitariam de maior atenção no curto prazo, tendo-se abordado questões relacionadas com a estabilidade, eletricidade, águas, gás, comunicações, ventilação, térmica e acústica, águas pluviais e segurança contra fogo.

Durante o resto do dia tivemos oportunidade de conhecer melhor a equipa e de continuar a falar sobre o projeto. Neste Open Working Day conhecemos também o novo parceiro do Arrebita, a IQ Energy.

On last July 11th it happened once again an Open Day Working event, as usual at Casa do Infante, Porto. It was the first public presentation of the second team of international architects (Marta, Pedro, Ilaria, Ana and Lili), which was thus able to show their work done from the first contact with the project.

The team has already proved to be very comfortable with the project and made a presentation that sought to survey its current status. The presentation focused on many of the aspects of the project - basement, ground floor, first and second floors, mezaninne, stairs, doors and windows and CABA (modular unit). On these aspects the team showed, beyond the point of situation, some doubts concerned to the materiality to adopt.

In technical terms, the team noted points that were already addressed and points that needed further attention in the short term, having been dealt with issues related to stability, electricity, water, gas, communications, ventilation, thermal and acoustic, rain water and fire safety.

During the rest of the day we had the opportunity to get to know the team and to continue to talk about the project. We also knew the new partner of Arrebita, IQ Energy.

Segunda reportagem do Jornal Público

O jornal Público fez uma nova vídeo-reportagem do projeto Arrebita!Porto, tendo acompanhado desta vez os desenvolvimentos desde a primeira reportagem e a fase de transição da primeira para a segunda equipa de arquitetos internacionais.

Foi referida a importância das medições, da gestão de custos e da materialidade para a definição do projeto. Tendo vindo a acompanhar o projeto desde o seu início, a contribuição da DIMSCALE tem agora uma preponderância fulcral na fase em que o projeto terá que apresentar conclusões para a execução de obra que irá acontecer em Setembro.

The newspaper Público made a new video report of the project Arrebita!Porto. This time it accompanied the developments since the first report and the transition from first to second team of international architects.

It was referred  the importance of Quantity Surveying, cost management and the definition of materiality for the project. Having been following the project since its inception, the contribution of DIMSCALE has now a crucial preponderance on this phase, in which the project will need to submit conclusions for the execution of work that will happen in September.

Aproxima-se o quarto Open Working Day

É já no próximo dia 11 de Julho que irá acontecer o quarto Open Working Day do projeto Arrebita!Porto. Este será o primeiro evento protagonizado pela segunda equipa de trabalho, que deu lugar à equipa que acompanhou o projeto desde Abril deste ano. Será possível aferir as primeiras impressões da nova equipa acerca do projeto e do trabalho desenvolvido pela equipa anterior, assim como o relato das primeiras vivências na cidade do Porto.

O evento está marcado para as 9h30, na Casa do Infante, situada na zona ribeirinha do Porto. Estas são sessões públicas, onde todos podem comparecer e contribuir com as suas ideias, ou apenas ficar a conhecer melhor o projeto. Contacte-nos para mais informações.

It is already in the next July 11th that will happen the fourth Open Working Day of project Arrebita!Porto. This will be the first event protagonized by the second work team, which came after the team that accompanied the project from April. It will be possible to assess first impressions of the new team about the project and the work of the previous team, as well as the description of the first experiences in the city of Porto.

The event is scheduled for 9:30 am at Casa do Infante, located in the riverside area of ​​Porto. These are public meetings, where everyone can attend and contribute with ideas, or just learn more about the project. Contact us for more information.

As despedidas da primeira equipa

E após o período de transição da primeira para a segunda equipa de trabalho, chegou a altura de os primeiros arquitetos fazerem as suas despedidas. O balanço e os agradecimentos foram feitos no mais recente post do blogue do Arrebita!Porto. Com um balanço claramente positivo no que respeita ao trabalho realizado e à experiência que viveram, a equipa planeia voltar a reunir-se com o projeto em Fevereiro de 2014, altura em que o projeto irá ser concluído.

And after the transition from first to second team, it is the moment for the first architects to make their farewells. The final appreciations and acknowledgments were made in the latest Arrebita! Porto blog post. With a clearly positive balance in relation to work developed and lived experience, the team plans to return to meet with the project in February 2014, when the project will be completed.

"Making Final Decisions" - atualização do blogue da equipa

"Making final decisions", ou em português "tomando decisões finais". Este foi o título escolhido para um dos últimos posts escrito por esta primeira equipa de trabalho, que em breve dará lugar a uma nova equipa. Este deu conta dos desenvolvimentos da passada semana, com destaque para o Open Working Day de quarta-feira. Houve ainda espaço para um elogio ao trabalho desenvolvido pela DIMSCALE no âmbito do projeto, o qual agradecemos :-). 

O projeto será brevemente entregue na Câmara Municipal do Porto, para que seja aprovado e posteriormente iniciados os trabalhos no edifício.

A equipa revelou ainda os nomes e nacionalidades dos constituintes da segunda equipa, todos eles também arquitetos: de Portugal a Marta Nunes e o Pedro Santos, a Ana Momirovska da Macedónia, a Ilaria La Corte de Itália e a Ljiljana Vidovic da Sérvia.

"Making final decisions"was the title chosen for one of the last posts written by this first team, which will soon give way to a new team. This post speaks about last week developments, highlighting the Open Working Day on Wednesday. There was still room for a compliment to the work of DIMSCALE under the project, which we appreciate :-).

The project will soon be delivered to Porto City Hall, to be approved and to start the works on the building.

The team also revealed the names and nationalities of the constituents of the second team, all of them also architects: Marta Nunes and Pedro Santos from Portugal, Ana Momirovska fom Macedonia, Ilaria La Corte from Italy and Ljiljana Vidovic from Serbia.

Terceiro Open Working Day

Aconteceu no passado dia 30 de Maio o terceiro Open Working Day do projeto Arrebita!Porto. Este foi o último Open Working Day desta equipa de arquitetos internacionais, a primeira de sete equipas que irão trabalhar no projeto. Nestas próximas duas semanas será feita a transição para a próxima equipa, estando já em contacto com o projeto parte da segunda equipa, que será composta também por arquitetos. 

It happened on May 30th the third Open Working Day of project Arrebita!Porto. This was the last Open Working Day of this international architects team, the first of seven teams that will work on the project. In these next two weeks it will be made the transition to the next team, which is also composed by architects. Part of this second team is already in Porto and in contact with the project.

No terceiro Open Working Day, a equipa apresentou um resumo do trabalho desenvolvido desde o início do mês de Maio e as respetivas conclusões no que ao projeto de Arquitetura diz respeito, sendo sobre esta base que a próxima equipa irá trabalhar. Esta apresentação estará disponível no blogue da equipa "Arrebita!Reboleira 42". A DIMSCALE fez uma apresentação acerca dos custos das diferentes soluções discutidas para os módulos interiores (que irão incorporar copa, instalações sanitárias, lavandaria e arrumos), tendo ficado bem patente a influência da escolha da materialidade nos custos totais. 

Grande parte do evento foi dedicada à discussão entre os presentes acerca das decisões tomadas até aqui, incidindo também em novas ideias e conceitos para desenvolver nos próximos meses. A definição do conceito das unidades modulares interiores ("caixas") dominou a discussão, tendo-se procurado chegar a um equilíbrio entre a funcionalidade, o design, o custo e a vertente concetual.

The third Open Working Day, the team presented a summary of the work done since the beginning of May and the respective conclusions on the Architecture project. It will be on this basis that the next team will work. This presentation will be available on the team blog "Arrebita! Reboleira 42". DIMSCALE gave a presentation about the costs of the different solutions discussed for the interior modules (which will incorporate pantry, toilets, laundry and storage), becoming evident the influence of the materiality choice in the total costs.

Much of the event was devoted to the discussion among participants about the decisions taken so far, focusing also on new ideas and concepts to develop in the coming months. The concept definition of interior modular units ("boxes") dominated the discussion and it was sought to strike a balance between functionality, design, cost and conceptual aspect.

A discussão acerca das unidades modulares prosseguiu durante o almoço, no qual a DIMSCALE e a equipa de trabalho continuaram a dar novas ideias e a definir alguns aspetos, nomeadamente no que à organização do espaço diz respeito. Durante a tarde, a DIMSCALE deu mais um workshop à equipa na Escola das Virtudes: desta vez, a partir das medições das unidades modulares a colocar no projeto, foram explicados os procedimentos básicos associados ao trabalho de Quantity Surveying e Controlo de Custos e sua importância para os projetos.

The discussion on the modular units continued over lunch, in which DIMSCALE and the team continued to bring new ideas and to define some aspects, in particular concerning to the organization of space. During the afternoon, DIMSCALE gave another workshop to the team at Escola das Virtudes: this time, from measurements of modular units, it was explained the basic procedures associated with the work of Quantity Surveying and Cost Control and its importance for the projects.

O próximo Open Working Day acontecerá já no mês de Julho, altura em que estaremos novamente no Porto para conhecer a nova equipa e trabalhar com a mesma. Até lá, e após terem sido definidos grande parte dos materiais e soluções construtivas, daremos apoio ao Arrebita no contacto com fornecedores de materiais que tenham interesse em se constituir como parceiros. Será também feita a primeira abordagem no que diz respeito aos custos totais do projeto, assim que a equipa fizer o envio da primeira versão do projeto de Arquitetura, que está neste momento a ser finalizada.

O trabalho da primeira equipa ultrapassou todas as nossas expetativas. O seu contributo foi extremamente valioso nesta fase de estudo e definição do programa de Arquitetura, sendo este trabalho uma excelente base para a próxima equipa. 

The next Open Working Day will take place already in the month of July, when we'll be again in Porto to get to know the new team and to work with them. Until then, and after being defined much of the materials and construction solutions, we will support Arrebita on the contact with material suppliers who are interested in being constituted as partners. It will also be made ​​the first approach concerning to the total project costs, after the team sends the first version of Architecture project, which is currently being finalized.

The work of the first team exceeded all our expectations. Its contribution was extremely valuable at this stage of study and definition of the Architecture program, and this work is an excellent base for the next team.
